Wellness providers would be wise to have a professional liability policy to protect themselves from accidents, lawsuits, or loss/theft of equipment. The cost is minimal, but the security of having a plan is enormous should you ever need to use it.

Liability insurance is only required for members who utilize the optional booking platform on the Sevanti Practice website. If you choose not to use our booking platform, we will not require you to have a policy, though it would be wise to have one.

Plans are available for Ayurveda, Yoga Therapy, and Vedic Astrology. Your policy must cover your wellness provider services, and Sevanti Wellness must be added as an additional insured. Companies like Alternative Balance, Allied Ayurvedic Council, and beYogi offer some of the most popular insurance policies for wellness professionals. Please explore others and go with the company that feels right for you.

An excellent choice for all three practices. They cover Ayurveda, Yoga Therapy, and Jyotish. If you need a policy for more than one practice, this is the best option.

 Applying for Liability Insurance

All policies are slightly different, but we recommend coverage similar to the following:
  • Professional & General Liability insurance – $2mil Per Occurrence/$4mil Aggregate (when deemed liable)
  • Business Personal Property & Business Interruption coverage – $20k for business equipment & income
  • Participant Accident Insurance – $25k for Medical Expenses / $1mil Aggregate Accidental Death – additional no-fault coverage
